Biography

Md Mostafizer Rahman is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society, University of Notre Dame. His research focuses on large language models (LLMs), machine learning, explainable AI, natural language processing (NLP), and data science. His work has been published in leading peer-reviewed venues, including ICCS, IEEE Transactions, IEEE Access, and Applied Intelligence (Springer). His current research interests span LLM inference, efficient and responsible AI, statistical and machine learning methods, and machine learning applications across education, healthcare, and societal domains.

Prior to joining the Lucy Family Institute, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Computer Science at Tulane University. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Aizu, Japan, where he also received recognition for outstanding doctoral research. He holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET) and a B.Sc. in the same discipline from Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, where he received the Dean’s Award for undergraduate academic excellence.
